EXPERIENCE
Juan Pablo Cafena focuses on litigation and arbitration and commercial law.
He is a professor’s assistant in Civil Procedure Law at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Previously, he was also a professor’s assistant in Constitutional Law, and Administrative Law at the same university.
He joined Claro & Cia. in 2026.

Recipient of “Matrícula de Honor” (Honors Awards), Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2023 and 2024), granted to the student who achieved the highest academic performance in their class during the previous year
Recipient of “Monseñor Carlos Casanueva Opazo” Award, granted for academic performance, spirit of university cooperation, interest in legal disciplines, and conduct in accordance with the principles that inspire the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, 2025.
Recipient of “Enrique Evans de la Cuadra” Award, granted for the best research work carried out by students of the Faculty, among those legal research projects related to the fundamental rights of the human person, titled: “Just compensation as a measure of reparation in expropriation: guarantee o indefensity?”.
